MTI is
currently expanding it's business world-wide. Part of this process involves
interviewing individuals who possess the professionalism and communication
skills necessary to join the MTI Team. There are many avenues people can use to
join us: unpaid intern (Dallas), paid office staff (Dallas), certification
track (Mental Trainer® and/or AASP Consultant), paid Mental Trainer® in Dallas
or worldwide, MTI satellite office (local MTI office run by you in your area).
Benefits of Joining the MTI Team
Use of the "Mental Trainer®"
Title: This designation
is a Registered Trademark of MTI and is developing wide recognition and
appeal. The public is gradually learning that a "Mental Trainer®"
is affiliated only with MTI and is someone who has been properly trained in
performance enhancement. The Certified Mental Trainer® (CMT) designation
is available to all MTI Team members who achieve AASP certification and/or
meet our specific certification criteria;
Part of MTI Corporate: The Mental Training, Inc.
name is well known in the sport psychology and performance enhancement industries.
When prospects are considering purchasing services, they can quickly gain
a level of confidence their money will be well spent. Also, all Mental
Trainers® receive the liability protections that exist as part of the MTI
corporation;
Consultation Pricing: Our marketing and intake
systems enable us to successfully attract the ideal clients who can most
likely benefit from and afford our services. Mental Trainers® are paid a generous
percentage of the consultation fee, based on experience;
Marketing Support: Knowing how to best use time
and financial resources to attract new clientele can be challenging. It's
the reason most new businesses fail, and it's no different in this
industry. We've learned the best marketing approaches to use, and how to effectively
attract a steady stream of clients;
Use of MTI Proprietary
Procedures:
MTI has copyrighted it's proprietary information and processes to protect
those who choose to be part of the MTI Team. These processes have been
refined such that marketing, intakes, program development and renewals are
highly efficient;
Professional Collaboration: Through regular business
meetings, Mental Trainers® discuss client issues and best practices. MTI
has experience with most every type of sport and performance activity. As
part of our team, we support each other with education, ideas and trouble
shooting so we can be effective with each of our clients;
Referrals from MTI Website: Mental Trainers® receive
local and long-distance referrals that have been qualified through the MTI
corporate marketing system;
Profit Sharing: Mental Trainers® participate
in corporate bonuses tied to individual productivity and corporate profits.
How to Join the MTI Team

interest to:
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
. We need to know about your formal
education, sports experience and mental training experience with clients.
If you are outside of Dallas,
we will meet with you by phone, or ideally using Google Video Chat. If you
are in the Dallas area, we'll meet in person.
After completing our screening process, signing the MTI paperwork
and joining our team, you'll begin the process of educating yourself on
our methods and core concepts.
You'll need to become certified
in the Mental Training industry (see below), so as soon as that happens
and you meet our internal requirements, you'll be ready to take on MTI
clients with our support. We will begin referring local or long-distance
clients to you, and we'll work with you to implement best practices, including
marketing campaigns to identify clients in your local area.
Becoming Certified in the Mental Training Industry
If you do not have mental
training-related certifications, we can assist you in several ways:
AASP Certification Supervision: The Association of Applied Sport
Psychology (AASP) is the most recognized certification authority in the
industry. It has challenging certification requirements that include a graduate
degree, coursework in psychology, counseling and kinesiology, and a practicum
of direct supervised hours with athletes. For those who are on track to meet the
educational requirements but not the supervision hours, Dr. Neff has created a
service that can help you. The cost is $2,000 and can be spread out over the
initial months. Using video, phone and internet, Dr. Neff will work directly with you to satisfy the AASP supervision requirements, no matter where you reside.
Certified Mental Trainer® (CMT): Before working 1-on-1 with athletes
as part of the MTI Team, we require all staff to complete our
internal certification requirements. Once completed, all Mental Trainers® will
be able to use the professional designation of "CMT". AASP certified
consultants who have joined the MTI Team have already met most of our criteria
and will be more quickly awarded the CMT designation. Those not AASP certified
will need to complete the following program ($1,000):
Weekly meetings with Dr. Neff;
50 hours of direct client
consultation using the MTI Consultation Process;
knowledge test over the MTI
performance enhancement core concepts;
knowledge test over program
design and problem solving;
knowledge test over the
competitive sport industry (history and terminology of the 20 biggest
sports); and,
knowledge test over basic business practices (accounting, marketing,
time management, networking, etc.).
